Safe To fail experiments as learning in complex systems

At the recent LILA session on the Paradox of Learning and Performance, Jennifer Garvey Berger suggested that trying safe to fail experiments provides real time research that drives learning in complex systems. An example is the approach that Janette Sadik-Kahn used in trying to manage the challenge of traffic in Times Square.  Here is the TED talk that she gave.
